Their hair is often jet black, or a very dark brown coloration. It is thought these were used for communication when the species was still primitive, and had not yet developed language. Quarians also possess bioluminescent lines across their skin, often in symmetrical patterns. Their skin ranges in shades of pale, greyish purple to reddish-pink beneath their enviro-suits.
Their lower legs are bowed backwards significantly, compared to asari or humans. Quarians appear physically similar to humans save for several key features the first being their hands and feet. They have three thick fingers on both hands which include a thumb, an index finger, and a long finger, similar to the middle fingers for humans, as well as three toes on each foot.
